Lifeguard Patrol Operations
When most people think of lifeguards
they think of young people sitting on a tower at the beach or at a pool. The
LACO. Lake Lifeguards are that and much more. We
patrol 3 of the largest parks in Southern California. In addition to the
obvious role of guarding the swim areas we also are responsible for the safety
of everyone in our parks. To achieve
this, each facility operates a patrol boat and a rescue truck
operation. Recently we have added a bicycle patrol
that shows great promise. To achieve the goal of public safety, the lake
lifeguards also serve a law enforcement role and
can issue citations and make arrests.
